FAQs for Business Participants
What is Birmingham Restaurant Week?
From fine dining to down-home cookin’, food lovers with a taste for adventure can enjoy special lunch or dinner 2 and 3-course, prix-fixe menus ranging from $5 to $50 per person – making it easy and affordable for everyone to enjoy a taste of Birmingham’s diverse dishes. BRW is inviting locally owned bars and food trucks to participate as well.
As a result of the severe economic impact that the pandemic has had on Birmingham restaurants, this year’s BRW will feature participating restaurants’ to-go and curbside pickup options, as well as the traditional dine-in option for restaurants and bars that have reopened for limited-seating dining on their patio and/or inside their restaurant. Cocktail kits and family style options will be offered on BRW menus also. Only locally owned and operated businesses will be allowed to participate this year, as BRW has decided to be hyper local and support the local community.

What safety precautions must my business take?
All participating businesses are expected to strictly adhere to all CDC guidelines for dine-in customers, as well as all local city requirements. The city of Birmingham has posted these Restaurant Guidelines for businesses to follow.
Are reservations required?
No, but since inside dining is limited to 50% capacity, BRW marketing highly recommends the public make reservations if you take them. They are not required, though, unless your business requires them.
Will BRW host any events?
BRW organizers had plans to bring back the signature BRW Preview Party and Wineology events, but due to the current guidelines, BRW will not be hosting any physical events that will be open to the public.
However, BRW will host an event in late July that all participating restaurants will be invited to attend. At this meeting, BRW food, beer, wine, soft drink and alcoholic beverage sponsors will be serving complimentary samples of their recommended products for BRW. In addition, restaurants will be invited to bring a plated BRW menu item to the event for a professional photo styling and shoot. Invitations and more details will be sent to you soon.
During BRW, we will host Zoom live demos offered for diners that will be presented by sponsors and local chefs/restaurants/bars. Topics may include how to make a cocktail, how to make a family style meal, wine tastings and more. Sponsors and individual restaurants and bars are free to offer any of these type of Zoom events, and we will be glad to partner and promote those for you! We would encourage you to think about offering meals or items diners can pick up in advance of the Zoom, so they can create the meal and/or cocktail with their family or by themselves safely at home.
Also, select restaurants and bars may host specialty meals and events for the most fervent foodies at their locations whether that be a crawfish boil, seafood night, taco tuesday, etc.
We will post Zoom and other events on our Events page for a detailed run-down of each event taking place during BRW. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for any questions and/or to send us details.
