Amidst this unprecedented time of the COVID-19 pandemic, local restaurants throughout Birmingham are calling out for help, and restaurant owners and employees need our support now more than ever. Bham Nom Nom is here to help the public do just that!
Presented by Birmingham Restaurant Week (BRW) and Birmingham Originals and created by Style Advertising, www.bhamnomnom.com is a new website and online directory of independently owned Birmingham restaurants that helps the Birmingham community find restaurants that are open for curbside, delivery and dine-in during this pandemic. Organized by city, Bham Nom Nom lists over 175 restaurants with each restaurant’s profile displaying icons that show what each restaurant offers such as to-go food, to-go alcohol, delivery options, and recently added dine-in option. Each restaurant’s website is also included, as well as links to their Venmo or GoFundMe donation pages and where to purchase gift cards online, if available. Bham Nom Nom includes restaurants located in Birmingham, Hoover, Leeds, Mountain Brook, Vestavia Hills, Pelham, Alabaster, Highway 280, Avondale and Downtown Birmingham.
Now that the CDC is slowly lifting guidelines for restaurants and now allowing patrons to dine in, we have added a dine-in icon for restaurants now allowing guests back at half-capacity. These restaurants will practice strict hygienic guidelines and will continue to enforce social-distancing measures to ensure a healthy dining experience. Bham Nom Nom will continue to be updated on a daily basis as more restaurants reopen.
Birmingham Restaurant Week and Birmingham Originals both highlight the value of local and independently owned establishments that define our culinary scene. Bham Nom Nom was created with the vision of being an all-encompassing resource that inspires the public to support our local restaurants and their hardworking employees who together have built Birmingham’s reputation as one of the nation’s premier culinary destinations. Bham Nom Nom has also been featured by various media like: WBRC Fox 6 Magic City Weekend, Over The Mountain Journal, Happenin’s in The Ham and AL.com. Bham Nom Nom also made a special appearance on Birmingham Mountain Radio and WBRC Fox 6 News both of which featured stories about its generous doings for local restaurants.
Whether you choose to eat in Birmingham or in the surrounding cities, we ask that you not only eat local but you support the dreams and aspirations of the individuals behind these restaurants. Every ordered meal, every purchased gift card and every GoFundMe or Venmo donation goes a long way toward making an impact on restaurants and staff during this challenging time.
We would not have been able to make this initiative possible without our many generous sponsors backing us. Thank you to our partner, Birmingham Originals, and sponsors, including 107.3 FM Birmingham Mountain Radio, Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Lamar Advertising for your support. Let’s keep these restaurants cookin’. Keep Calm and Nom Nom, Birmingham!
